Rugged Sewer Ejector Pit Float Switch
The rugged sewage ejector pit switch is designed to be used primarily in residential, commercial, and rental unit sewage ejector pump basins to alert the property owner of an excessively high black water level before water spills out of the basin and onto the basement floor. Must be installed inside the basin above the normal operating level and can be quickly strapped to your pump discharge pipe with zip ties.
This rugged sewage ejector float switch is designed to be used primarily in pump basins to alert the property owner of an excessively high black water level before water spills out of the basin and onto the basement floor. Sewage ejector pump basins can have sediment, grease, solids, and debris that can coat and foul water sensors over time. This hermetically sealed, rugged float can alert if water level exceeds the normal operating level, indicating pump, check valve, or discharge pipe service is needed, and will not get fouled or stuck. NOTE: be sure to locate this float out of the way of other items in the pit so it can freely float and indicate the high-water condition.
What's Included:
- 1 – Rugged Float Switch with 6 ft. cord
- 1 Year Warranty
Where should you use the rugged float switch?
Out of the box, you'll receive real-time temperature detection (both high and low thresholds) for uses such as a freeze alarm, or high temperature alarm in a server room or warehouse. Add the rugged float when you also want to be alerted to a failed sewage ejector pump, failed check valve, or clogged discharge pipe. You'll also receive messages when power is lost and when it returns.
NOTE: Although this rugged float is a quality float for home, rental, or commercial sewage pump applications, we advise the following “good installation practices” to ensure the best, reliable, long-term operation, free of false alerts. 1) The float should be located in the pump basin away from the direct black water pipe(s) to the basin to prevent false alerts from moving water. 2) Strap the float to your pumps discharge pipe and locate it such that it won’t “hang up” on other items in the pit. The float needs to swing freely to activate an alarm.
How does the rugged sewage ejector float protect your property?
The rugged sewage ejector float protects your property by monitoring the black water level in your basement sewage ejector pump basin, and if water would rise above the ordinary operating level, the float signals to the pumpalarm.com cellular transmitter to notify up to three people via text message to take action. These text messages can be sent to yourself, your relatives, a trusted neighbor, or a trusted plumber. Many people have automatic garage door openers today, so even if you’re away on vacation, an alert sent to a neighbor or plumber would allow them to enter your home through the garage door keypad and take action on the black water level to prevent an overflow. Alerts, you want to know about, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
